Vraheim then spoke, his head turning 180° on his neck. The soldier, shock, froze over with uncertain thoughts in his mind, wondering why his sword didn't even work against him. The sword passed through Vraheim like nothing. His voice clearly show how nervous he was when he drew his sword out and screamed his lungs out. Vraheim's intentions were obvious as his threatening air wraps around everyone in the room.Ī soldier attempted to attack Vraheim from behind. Such thoughts ran inside Lucinda's mind as she cowers behind Niya to protect her child from the Demon Lord. Was he planning on killing them as a way of taking revenge for defeating a Demon Lord? She didn't think a Demon Lord would go this far for her own child who wasn't even born yet. Vraheim's flickering eyes looked down on the young princess that bears the child of a hero. Vraheim."ĭeep gurgling voice of a creature from an unknown creation leaked out from his faceless skull as he spoke.Įveryone in the room froze in fear as they were faced with an existence that could easily wipe them off the world. He was the Demon Lord who was feared as the only being close to a god. A tall shadow mass like cloak, a skeletal frame of a 3 meter giant and flaming blue eyes in his eye sockets. According witnesses, who survived an encounter with the 13th Demon Lord, he looks like a mass of black smoke with only a skull at the top.īut right now, everyone was looking at the true appearance of the Demon Lord Vraheim. However, no one knows his true appearance. Stories about the Demon Lord who ate death to gain power have long since circulated when he first appeared. 17 – The Demon Lord's First Born.ĭemon Lord Vraheim. i can't bring myself to continue because i hate (HATE) senseless grinding in games.Vol. I'm almost 90 minutes in and i'm still stuck in the first region because it's such a slog to get out of. The blacksmith in this game is _definitely_ crap at his job. If your blacksmith can't make a sword which will hold up against more than 3-5 snakes in a row, he's a crappy blacksmith. In other words, most of the experience is spent "grinding." The issue is having to constantly replace your weapon, which requires taking constant advantage of the respawning resources. Resources and low-level hunting/fighting opportunities keep respawning this whole time, so resource shortage and opportunities to grind for skill levels is not the issue. As the English saying goes: lather, rinse, repeat. Head on back and start whacking re-spawned snakes and spiders again. So, again, go spend extra time gathering enough resources to replace your sword so you that you can continue. While grinding through the re-spawned monsters, your sword will break. It also turns out that the final monster blocking your way requires a much higher sword skill level than you currently have, forcing you to go re-kill lesser monsters to increase your sword skill. You'll spend 10-15 minutes gathering enough money to replace your sword and continue, only to find that some of the monsters have re-spawned and that you now need to collect even more resources to kill of some of the ones you already defeated. Sidebar: skill levels are a new addition in this title and are used to force you to grind through low-level hunting and fights before being able shoot a fox for its fur, a wild goat for its meat, or attack the mini-boss spider which is blocking the way to the next map tile.Īfter fighting your way through a handful of the critters which block your progress, your sword will break. That requires collecting resources, skill levels, and weapons with which to fight them. That requires defeating monsters to open up the route. You have to fight your way out of the initial set of locations in order to progress. The bad really boils down to a synergy of things that all work together to give an excruciatingly grindy play experience: Since we normally travel to visit a shop, this is a bit streamlined compared to parts 1 and 2. The map now takes you to various shops instead of each separate map location.

Unlike parts 1 and 2, you don't need to be told how to spot mushrooms before they begin to appear: they've visible and collectible from the start.

There's more to do from the very start. As your cooking skill increases, so does the efficiency of your eating.

They've combine all food types into a generic "food" item, camping can now be done anywhere, and any amount of food can be eaten to gain energy during that one camping session. The streamlining of the camping and food caught me off guard but i prefer it over the older system. Years after playing parts 1 and 2, i recently re-played them and the Lost Tales part 1 and enjoyed them all thoroughly, then _finally_ bought part 3. Management summary: i unfortunately cannot recommend this because it's such a grindy slog.
